..”So in theory you should have failed english.”
It’s a semi-rant, so if you’re not in the mood, don’t read hahaaa.
So, if any of you know Scotland or even live there. You should know that today (the 5th august) was a reaaaally important day for most higher academic pupils. Whether it was standard grade results, higher, advanced higher or even Higher National Degrees, we all found out the dreaded results that have been playing on our minds for months!
I sat my 4 highers and an intermediate 2 in may this year, and have been waiting for these results, for what seems a lifetime! So when I woke up this morning, there was my phone, buzzing like a bee high on drugs, or something similar. I looked down at it and noticed it said “SQA” (scottish qualification authority). It was just then that I remembered that I had applied to get my results text and emailed to me, So you could imagine the horror on my face when I realised there was no escaping those rascal results!
It took me a while to open up the text, didn’t help that my mum was being impatient and wanted to know before she went out. So I went for it, and half of me wished I hadn’t, while the rest of me was slightly delighted.
I passed four of out five of those dreaded exams, which to most people in my family was absolutely spectacular! But in my eyes, I wasn’t pleased at all. I hadn’t passed maths like I wished I had, which isn’t at all good, because i’m taking advanced higher this year.
So how on earth do I do advanced higher, without managing higher? My friends say they can’t exactly stop me from taking it, but I’ll look light a right fool if I didn’t manage to even pass with a C. (Our levels are A,B,C with D as a ‘miss’ and F as Fail.) I really want to continue taking it as I enjoy maths, I can do the actual maths, I just don’t understand the stupid wording of the questions.
I was explaining this to my uncle and you know what he replied? “So in theory, you should have passed maths and failed english!” I have to agree with him, I actually thought I had failed english, and might have JUST passed maths.
But oh well, I still got a hundred quid, so I’m not complaining
I’m away into town now with Sophiieeee. So I’ll probably edit this post later.. Might tell you what I got up to today or something. Anyway, quick questions!
1) Would you be disappointed or impressed if you passed 4 out of 5 exams?
2) If you got 1 million pounds (dollars etc), what would you spend it on?
3) If you got 1 wish, what would it be?

My name is Kimberrley. I'm seventeen and from Scotland. I'm currently doing my final year at school, then leaving to go to University, hopefully, to do Computing Science. If not, then I might go in the direction of biological studies, but we'll just have to see.
